Clearly defined sustainability governance helps ensure accountability right across our global business.

Our Sustainability Strategy is underpinned by a clearly defined governance and management structure, to help ensure accountability from the Board right down to our operating markets.

"I must commend the unwavering support across our Group Executive and leadership teams. They have played a pivotal role in driving accountability and embedding sustainability into SSP’s everyday decisions and ways of working across our global organisation."

Mike Clasper, Chair of SSP Group plc

Our focus areas

Building our sustainability expertise globally

We are strengthening our sustainability expertise across the business to ensure we have a workforce with the knowledge, skills and passion to help us drive forward our Sustainability Strategy and deliver on our targets.

Understanding what matters most to our stakeholders

We engage with a wide range of our stakeholders at local, regional and global levels. Listening to our stakeholders helps us better understand their views and concerns and enables us to respond to them appropriately. It gives us valuable inputs into, and feedback on, our strategic approach, and helps ensure we take stakeholder views into account in our decision-making.

Business ethics and standards

We are committed to applying high standards of business ethics and to operating with honesty, integrity and transparency. Our global policies play a crucial role in forming the backbone of our approach to business ethics and good governance. Our Group companies are expected to adhere to these policies within the context of local regulation and market practice.

Transparent reporting and disclosures

We are committed to transparent sustainability reporting, disclosure and performance data. We consider and report on sustainability disclosures with reference to or in line with the following global reporting frameworks. The locations of all relevant disclosures are detailed in our Sustainability Data Book.

2023

Our 2023 Sustainability Report is now live

We published our first stand-alone Sustainability Report last year, setting out our strategy and commitments - centred around Product, Planet and People - and how we planned to get there.

Now, we have published our 2023 Sustainability Report, highlighting how we're delivering on those plans and commitments, including detailed information on our 2023 progress.

This year, we have also published a Sustainability Data Book for comprehensive details of our yearly data performance, scope and definitions, as well as our reporting indices for GRI, SASB and TCFD.

2023

We received an MSCI ESG Rating of A

In June 2023, SSP Group plc received an MSCI ESG Rating of A (on a scale of AAA-CCC) in the MSCI ESG Ratings assessment.

MSCI ESG Research provides MSCI ESG Ratings for investors on global companies, based on a scale of AAA (leader) to CCC (laggard), according to exposure to industry-specific ESG risks and the ability to manage those risks relative to peers. Further details can be found at: www.msci.com

This achievement demonstrates the strong progress we are making against our sustainability strategy and targets, and reflects the increase in transparent reporting, including the publication of our first stand-alone Sustainability Report in January 2023.

2022

We published our first Sustainability Report!

2022 saw us embed our new Sustainability Strategy right across the business and make strong progress against our targets.

As part of our commitment to transparency, we have developed our very first Sustainability Report, which we published in January 2023. This provides detailed information on our 2022 progress and future plans, and is aligned to best practice reporting frameworks – the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standard and Sustainable Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Restaurants Standard.

And we are just at the beginning of our sustainability journey. There are many challenges ahead but, by working in collaboration with our suppliers, clients and brand partners, we believe we can drive positive change across the food travel sector.
